Mommy Moments – Thankful for 2011

mommy moments

The year 2011 has been a very good and at the same time a not-so-good year for me and my family. But despite all the odds, we have beaten them all and will still be facing different challenges in the year ahead.

For this year, I am thankful for all the blessings God has showered upon us. The grandest of all these blessings is the arrival of our second child, Baby Job. It was an easy pregnancy overall, except for the first trimester, and the delivery, being safe and all and for giving us a healthy baby.

I am also thankful for the jobs that hubby and I have. Despite the hospital facing temporary closure for about three months, my online job took over our finances and I was able to support my hubby and through my meager earnings, we were still able to buy our basic needs.

I am thankful for new found friends, online friends that is, that I have met and have eventually become my offline friends too. I hope we can be friends for a long time.

I am thankful for the online community that I have found and belong to, I am able to learn a lot and they (the members) have been very accommodating and very helpful indeed.

I am thankful for the opportunities to travel. My family was able to visit some of my relatives in Davao City earlier this year.

I am thankful for all the wisdom God has bestowed to my son who made it to the of his class.

I am thankful to God for giving us good health throughout the whole year.

I am thankful for everything God has given us, for everything that He has taken away from us, for everything that He has done for us, for everything that He will still do for us, for being the God of our lives and our family. To all these, I am giving back all the glory and honor to Him!

“In everything give thanks for this is

the will of God concerning you.”

Aging Beautifully

Aging is inevitable; we will all go through that stage and along with aging comes various illnesses and diseases associated with old age and one of these is incontinence. According to Wiktionary, incontinence is the inability of any of the physical organs to restrain discharges of their contents; involuntary discharge or evacuation (of urine or feces).

Having aging parents and relatives, I have encountered such circumstances. My mom for example, although still at her early 60s is already experiencing incontinence. Probably because she is immobile and disabled and just sits on her wheelchair and because she is obese, her urinary organs have not functioned normally. Every time we go out, we have to ready adult diapers to keep her from getting wet. But my mom is not used to using diapers and she finds it very uncomfortable to wear. But good thing there are incontinence products at that are of good quality and that my mother will surely love to use. Aside from those diapers and incontinence products, they also have bathroom and bedroom supplies which are great for people with disabilities like my mom.

I have seen my mother suffer from incontinence and since she’s on the heavy side, she finds it so hard to be moving from her wheelchair to the bed just to pee. And I tell you, it’s no easy. Now I just wish that when hubby and I grow old, we won’t experience any hardships and go through serious medical conditions… oh, I really pray and hope we won’t. So as a realization, we should be very conscious of our lifestyle now, we should take good care of our health and live our days happy and stress-free (hopefully)!
