The Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Total Knock Out Vox Box Review #CSMTKO

I received a box of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure for the Sally Hansen Total Knock Out Vox Box courtesy of Influenster. It is my first time to review an Influenster VoxBox and it is just one nice box as it will ready me (and my nails) for sandals and flip flop season or just to let me skip the salon for some nail pampering! Wohooo!

So I got these beautiful colours for my nails and they are really a knock out!

My Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure courtesy of Influenster!

So what makes this a Total Knock Out? It is a TOTAL PACKAGE! It has SEVEN BENEFITS in ONE BOTTLE! The base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, color, top coat, it is chip resistant and has a gel shine finish, and with the Flawless Finish Brush, I get a salon perfect mani! That is so awesome!

Since I am no pro when it comes to nail colouring, I tried the Red My Lips colour first:

and the result (take note: I don’t usually colour my nails and I have shaky hands):

Sally Hansen manicure

Taadaaaa! Red My Lips nails by Sally Hansen!

I love the fact that I don’t have to use a top coat, a strengthener and or a base coat any more because one bottle has everything a salon manicure does! I love the brush because it stays together once I start spreading the polish on my nails, unlike those that I’ve used before, some brush strands break away and stain the outsides of my nails, thus leaving a messy manicure. While the Sally Hansen Flawless Finish Brush gives me that salon perfect mani!

I tried the Pat on the Black and this is the result:

Love love love this colour!!!

Being a mum, I frequent the kitchen and do a lot of chores, with the Sally Hansen chip resistant benefit, the colours survived constant exposure to water (like washing the dishes), chemicals (dishwashing liquid and stuff like that) and other mummy chores, and that’s what I love about it! In fact, I have already recommended this to my co-workers! It’s sheer bliss!

I just love the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure I got from Influenster! It is way better than the brand that I use before and will definitely continue to use them. I can’t wait for Spring and Summer! Visit the the Sally Hansen website to know more about their products or like them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter and Instagram for updates.

Disclosure: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

5 Ways To Look Great During Your Pregnancy

With all the changes to our body during pregnancy, combined with not always feeling crash hot, dressing well can help us feel feminine and good about ourselves. However you don’t need to spend a small fortune to look great, just follow these tips:

Be yourself

If certain cuts, colours and styles don’t suit you when you’re not pregnant, then use these as your governing principles for buying maternity wear. You’ll be spoilt for choice once you start looking around, so stick to your guns on what works for you. A great place to start is with discount online retailers such as Maternity Sale. You’ll also save your poor feet and back by letting your fingers do the walking, phew!

Get the basics

You simply can’t go past wardrobe basics like pants, tops and dresses. If you stick with the basics there are so many ways (see below) to jazz things up and save a fortune.

During summer I think your maternity wardrobe basics must include the maxi dress (see tip #5 below), singlet tops, skirts and shorts. However, before you lash out on the bottoms, see how far you can stretch the friendship with your existing clothes by investing in a pants extender.

During winter you can see how you go with your jeans and a pants extender. For me however, I couldn’t go past the massive stretchy waist band of maternity jeans! Leggings are also essential, followed by cardigans. With the increases in your basal temperature, don’t commit too heavily to very warm gear unless you need it. For me, my cardigans and scarves were invaluable during winter as they allowed me to continue using all of my summer tops.

If you need to wear business or corporate attire for work, once again, see how much mileage you can get out of your existing wardrobe by using pants extenders. You should be able to wear tailored jackets for most of your pregnancy, just combine with loose fitting maternity blouses and dresses. You might want to also invest in a pair of smart flats to keep your back happy.

Sticks with solid colours

Loud bold printed tops, particularly with a very big bump, are just overwhelming. Plain colours or soft prints are ideal and if you still feel the need to vamp it up, go for some colourful accessories.

To add your own sense of style or to just dress things up a bit, make use of all your existing jewellery and other accessories like scarves and hats.

Go the Maxi

Ah the maxi dress; is there no limit to what it can do? I literally lived in these during summer when pregnant with my second child. The beauty of the maxi, apart from being criminally comfortable and flattering for almost anyone, is your ability to dress up or down in a jiffy with accessories.

Looking great when you’re pregnant doesn’t have to be a challenge, just plan your wardrobe based on the tips above and shop smart.

Of Wedding Dresses and Wedding Plans

It’s been nine years since I tied the knot with my ex-boyfriend-turned-husband. We had a simple and private wedding with only close friends and family invited. Our budget was just enough and I had to do all the wedding planning myself. But we went overboard our budget when the wedding gown I chose was not the one I wanted it to be. I spent about a hundred dollars for the wedding gown but it turned out to be not-so-nice and it wasn’t the one I wanted. So I had to order a new wedding gown. It was a waste of money and time.

But had I learned about DressFirst, I would have bought my wedding gown from the website. Their wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, even homecoming dresses are just so elegant and pretty and they are made-to-order and if I select the custom size at the website, the dress would be tailored to exactly fit me. I remember bringing my then fiance to the hospital because he was so stressed out due to my wedding gown that was really not wearable. So anyway, had I known DressFirst then, I would really have saved time and money.

As I browse through DressFirst website, it made me think of having my wedding ceremony done all over again. I know I may sound crazy but if I look back, I would have done things differently. I would have a grand wedding and go on a honeymoon and DressFirst would have helped me with our wedding dresses even with my entourage. I would have saved a lot since DressFirst offers free shipping on wedding dress and even on prom dresses. They have a very wide collection of beautiful and elegant wedding dresses, cheap bridesmaid dresses, evening dresses, wedding accessories, even shoes, handbags, veils, and so much more. And if I would ever have a wedding ceremony again (of course with my husband, let’s say renewal of vows), I would really love to wear this wedding gown:

DressFirst wedding dresses

This is a ball-gown strapless chapel train organza charmeuse wedding dress with lace beadwork pegged at $276.99. Its regular price is $380 and it’s a really nice dress plus shipping is free for that. I can also get my wedding favours at DressFirst, it’s like an all-in-one stop shop for all my wedding needs and special occasions! It’s just an amazing website.

Until then, I would only have to dream or maybe plan for our wedding anniversary, we are hoping we will reach golden, and get to see our boys grow up and have families of their own. For now, I’ll satisfy myself with the beautiful collections and reminisce that wonderful day when I wedded my best friend, my sweetheart, my text mate, the love of my life, my ex-boyfriend, now my husband.
